The choir performed
during Mass at St. Oswald's RC Church, Padgate, Warrington, on 29th May 2009. The
occasion was a happy and very special one attended by senior clergy,
including the Archbishop of Liverpool, the Most Reverend Patrick Kelly,
to mark fifty years since the ordination of Father Charles
Canning.
The choir was
delighted to receive the invitation to sing during the service because
Father Canning has been a keen fan of the choir for a number of
years. After the service, clergy, congregation and choristers
repaired to St Oswald's Social Club for another short performance by the
choir and some excellent refreshment. Choristers would like to
record their thanks and appreciation of the welcome that they received
from Father Canning and the parishioners of St Oswald's.
Some photos below
give some idea of the fun that was had, especially when Father Canning
was pressed into service as a chorister for a short performance.
