On Saturday 3rd September we performed at the Parr Hall in Warrington where we were joined by our guests, The Houghton Weavers.
The Houghton Weavers have been entertaining folk for over 40 years – some might say they are still ‘new’ to the business, compared to Warrington Male Voice Choir who can trace their roots back to 1898, making us 118 years old!!
Those of you who are fans of The Houghton Weavers may have noticed a change in the line-up from their usual members. Tony and Steve were joined by Steve Jnr whilst David was recovering from a triple heart bypass. Steve Jnr did a wonderful job filling in for David and he brought the average age of the group down significantly!!
The Houghton Weavers have a much loved unique blend of popular folk music, humour and audience participation – as our audience found on the night – and as their motto says, they always ‘Keep Folk Smiling’ – that they did. See our Photo Gallery for more photos.
