Warrington Male Voice Choir Patron, Terry Waite CBE, will be in the audience for this year’s Christmas Voices Christmas Brass concert, on Saturday 16 December at Parr Hall at 7.30pm.
However, as well as enjoying listening to Warrington Male Voice Choir and Leyland Band, adding his voice to the audience Christmas carol sing-along and saying a few words at some point during the evening, Terry will be selling and signing copies of his books.
Three books – Solitude, Out of the Silence & Travels with a Primate – will be on sale during the interval (Paperbacks £10, Hardback £17; cash only or cheques), and Terry will personally sign any books bought on the night, for as long as time allows.
Commenting Choir Chairman, Bob Williams said “Knowing how busy Terry’s diary is, we are delighted that he has managed to join us for what is always a fabulous festive night. He is always worth listening to and for him to provide the opportunity for the audience to buy a rather special Christmas present – a book written and signed by Terry – adds something extra to the evening”.
Terry’s books will not be the only potential Christmas present available to buy on the night. The choir will be selling a brand new CD. ‘Christmas Voices Christmas Brass’ brings the choir and Leyland Band together on CD for the first time, with a recording that aims to capture some of the atmosphere from the very special evening of the same name.
So with Terry’s books and the choir & band CD being on sale and a charity collection on the night, to support the excellent work being done in Warrington by The Salvation Army, it might be a good idea to bring some cash.
And, of course, the organisers are encouraging everyone to get in the mood and ‘dress for Christmas’ – especially if they want to stand out from what’s looking like a near sell out crowd!
Tickets at £10. (£5 under 16) can be bought by ringing 01925 442345, visiting www.pyramidparrhall.com, or in person from the Pyramid/Parr Hall ticket office.
