Summer wedding for chorister's son

The wedding of Owen Parry and Jenny Grundy took place at Warrington Parish Church on Saturday 5th August, 2006. Owen is the son of Gwil Parry, bass. The choir, again following its normal tradition of singing at choristers' family weddings, performed a range of music in the Parish Church to the enjoyment of the wedding congregation. The happy couple were delighted to have the choir in support, and said afterwards that they had added so much to a wonderful day. Owen and Jenny are to spend their honeymoon cruising the Western Mediterranean. Some choristers again tried to enrol themselves as a honeymoon serenade ensemble in the hope of a free cruise, but, as with the earlier wedding in April, the offer failed dismally.

Gwil said later that he had received many enquiries from wedding guests about booking the choir for weddings, but had had to point out, regrettably, that it was a members only tradition. Gwil added that, throughout the ceremony, he had felt an intense pride in the choir, and the contribution his fellow choristers had made to a very happy occasion.
