The choir was delighted to perform in the church of Llansanffraid, Glan Conwy, in North Wales on a rather grey October evening.  The concert took place at the request of Cyril Jones, a former member of the choir, now resident in Glan Conwy. He compèred the evening.  It is believed to be the first occasion on which Warrington Male Voice Choir has performed, in concert, in Wales.  Choristers were given a very warm reception by the audience in this beautiful old church, and, despite the gloomy  weather outside, all enjoyed a pleasant  musical evening.  Special mention must be made of local soloists, Bryn Williams, tenor, and Edgar Jones, baritone, who delighted choir and audience alike with their performances, most memorably the duets.

The concert was followed by 'supper' in the church hall. This was a sumptuous affair that included the Welsh traditional bara brith. The choir would like to record its gratitude to the Rev CR Owen and the ladies of Llansanffraid church for their hard work, and for the hospitality shown in providing such wonderful refreshment, not to mention the accompanying gallons of tea and coffee. Well done to you all, and many thanks.

The church, like many old churches in Wales, has got its own charming legend concerning its origins. Have a look at
